PDFs vs. Interactive Scores
It is 2021, and that means technology is moving forward at a staggering pace! One of the areas tech is playing a role is how you learn music. Traditionally, musicians use PDFs or printed paper to read and learn songs. Now there are things called "interactive scores" that offer some great functionality, like hearing the music before you play it, slowing down the music, speeding it up, and changing how the music looks on your screen.
PDFs
- Show one single key, the key that the PDF is in
- No interactive elements
- Good for Level 1 songs
- Sometimes better for complex music that is not compatible with interactive scores like this version of the super-popular "Baby Shark".
Interactive Scores
- Get a PDF copy with the interactive score! (this means you essentially get the PDF for free with the interactive score)
- Show all keys, you pick the key that is best for you to play or sing!
- Change how you view the music
- Hear how the music should sound
- Speed up or slow down the music
- Good for Level 1-7 songs
- Great for songs like this version of the holiday classic "Jingle Bells".
- At www.bestsheetmusic.com you can actually select the option to see only interactive scores!
